LA Kids Outside began with a simple belief: children thrive when they have the freedom to explore, play, and connect with the natural world.
What started as a small outdoor learning experience has grown into a vibrant nature-based community where curiosity leads the way. Inspired by the wonder children naturally bring to the outdoors, LA Kids Outside was created to provide meaningful opportunities for families to discover together and build lasting connections with nature.
Over time, the program evolved into its own unique space. One centered on hands-on exploration, sensory-rich experiences, and child-led adventures. From digging in the garden and observing insects to creating nature art and embarking on outdoor excursions, every experience is designed to spark imagination and foster a love of learning.
As the community has grown, so have the opportunities for adventure. What began in the garden now extends to nature walks, field trips, seasonal celebrations, and countless moments of discovery shared among families.
Today, LA Kids Outside continues to nurture a welcoming community where children can explore freely, build confidence, develop friendships, and experience the joy of learning through nature.
Learning Through Nature
Ready for some outdoor nature fun?
At LA Kids Outside, our enrichment experiences for children ages 2–5 are built around curiosity, imagination, and joy. We believe children learn best when they are free to move, explore, and discover the world through hands-on experiences in nature.
Each class takes place in a beautiful outdoor space designed for open-ended play and exploration. Children dig, create, observe, and experiment as they follow their natural sense of wonder through ever-changing seasonal experiences.
Along the way, children build friendships, practice social skills, strengthen communication skills, and grow in confidence, all while forming a meaningful connection to the natural world.
Families are an essential part of this journey. These are together-time experiences where parents and guardians stay, play, and learn alongside their children. In doing so, families not only share special moments but also build a strong sense of community, belonging, and support with one another.
As our community continues to grow, so do our adventures, expanding into field trips, seasonal outings, and shared outdoor experiences that bring learning into the wider world.
